possession case

Client sought urgent advice and assistance in a case where the warrant was due to be executed imminently and the deadline to appeal the Outright Order for Possession (made on mandatory rent arrears grounds for possession) had lapsed approximately 10 weeks prior to him seeking legal advice from GT Stewart. Despite the lack of merits, Nilima advised the client of measures to improve his financial position and she engaged in intense negotiations with the landlord. As a result, the landlord agreed to suspend the warrant for possession and agreed that the Outright Order for Possession would be varied to a Suspended Order for Possession on terms of current rent plus £10 per week towards the rent arrears. This is a fantastic outcome achieved against all odds where the client is able to retain a roof over his head otherwise he would have faced the real risk of street homelessness.
