John-Paul MacNamara was called to the Bar by the Middle Temple in 2008 and cross-qualified as a solicitor in 2011. He was previously a partner and head of crown court advocacy at another London-based law firm before moving to GT Stewart in 2017. John-Paul has appeared as a Leading Junior, Junior alone and led Junior in the Crown Court. He has developed a specific specialism in cases involving allegations of murder, attempted murder, as well as cases involving vulnerable witnesses.
John-Paul was shortlisted in the national Law Society Excellence Awards in the category of Solicitor Advocate of the Year in both 2015 and 2016. John-Paul is known for his tenacious style of advocacy, engaging closing speeches and has earned a reputation as a leading Advocate, particularly in the cross-examination of expert witnesses.
